Your Diecast
Collection Questions, Answered.
Welcome to the FAQ hub for 164diecast.eu, your premier destination for collectible Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and premium 1/64 diecast models across Europe and the European Economic Area (EEA).

As dedicated European diecast collectors and hobbyists, we know your concerns go beyond generic product questions. You're looking for scarce Hot Wheels Premium Car Culture releases, reassurance on packaging integrity for your Mint on Card (MOC) finds, and transparent pricing that reflects genuine collectible value.

Our mission is to be the most reliable European diecast merchant—a trustworthy source that resolves your key hesitations about rarity, shipping, and authenticity. Whether you're in the EU, the UK, or the wider EEA, dive into our deep-dive answers designed to build your confidence and help you secure the next prized addition to your display.

We deliver certainty, not just cars, to every European diecast buyer.
I live in a non-EU country like the UK, Switzerland, or Norway.
Will I be hit with unexpected VAT or customs fees upon delivery?
As a vendor serving the entire European region, our displayed prices include VAT for all EU/EEA member countries. However, if you are purchasing from a country outside the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), your order may be subject to local import duties, taxes, and customs fees upon arrival.
These charges are determined by your country's local customs office and are the responsibility of the buyer. We ensure all necessary customs documentation is correctly attached to prevent undue delays.
How fast is your shipping to distant European countries
(e.g., Finland, Portugal, or Malta)?
We utilize reliable, fully tracked international courier services to ensure efficient delivery across Europe. While delivery times vary by country, we strive to dispatch all orders quickly.
For specific delivery estimates to your location, please refer to our dedicated Shipping Policy page, but rest assured, your package is monitored every step of the way until it reaches your door.
If I change my mind after receiving the car, can I return it?
As per EU consumer distance selling laws, we offer a cooling-off period. However, given the nature of collecting, all returned items must be in the exact condition they were received, especially the packaging (MOC condition).
We cannot accept returns on items that have been opened or had the card/blister damaged, as this significantly devalues the item for future collectors. Please review our full Returns Policy for detailed instructions.
Since I’m buying from a collector’s inventory, how can I be sure of the card or blister’s exact condition, including any shelf wear, price stickers, or small damage?
This is perhaps the most important difference when buying from 164diecast.eu. We are private collectors, and our inventory reflects the variable condition typical of high-demand diecast items found globally.
The photo displayed on the product page is of the exact item you will receive.
We photograph any visible flaws—such as soft corners, minor blister dents, old store price tags, or slight card creases—so you can inspect the item's precise condition and make an informed decision based on the visual evidence.
Please study the pictures carefully before purchasing.
I noticed an old price tag or a foreign sticker in the product photo.
Will the actual car I receive have that tag?
Yes. Because the photo represents the exact collector item in stock, any visible price tags, foreign language text, or minor residue on the card or blister are part of that specific piece’s history and condition.
We do not remove these markings as it can often damage the card further.
The price you pay reflects the collectible value of the model in that specific condition, as shown.
Why do some older or retired models have a significantly higher price than their original retail cost, even if the card has minor damage?
Our pricing reflects the current secondary market collectible value and scarcity of the item within the European market, not the original retail price.
Older, retired, or highly allocated models (like certain Car Culture sets) appreciate in value based on demand, rarity, and collector desire.
Even items with minor packaging flaws often command a premium because the casting itself is rare or highly sought after by buyers who missed the initial release.
